Good morning.  I’m Sonnie Shepherd.  It’s Christmas morning, and we here in Maine are waking up to a beautiful White Christmas.  We’re taking a couple of days off from the news because, while we love nothing more than keeping you informed with all the local, national and world news … it’s Christmas.  Did you know that radio for music actually began on Christmas Eve 1906?  A man named Reginald Fessenden played violin music and read the Bible to ships at  sea, proving voice and music could travel by radio waves.  We’ve come a long way … from a single mic to spinning vinyl and loading carts, to today’s internet radio, like our own Nice & Easy Internet radio.  On behalf of Kim, Brian, Renee, and myself, thank you for your support this year.  Wherever you’re listening from, we hope you’re warm, safe, and feeling the love and gratitude.  Catch up on the news 24/7 on social media and at downeast digest dot news.  We’ll be back here Monday morning, beginning at 6 a.m.  And follow us on social media for any big stories that happen in the meantime.

Good morning, I’m Sonnie Shepherd.  Merry Christmas – it’s a white one here in Downeast Maine.  Wherever you’re listening from, we hope you found your every wish under the tree this year.  We’re taking a couple of days off from the news because, while we love nothing more than keeping you informed with all the local, national and world news … it’s Christmas.  Let’s hope it’s a season of peace.  During WW 1, the Christmas Truce was a series of spontaneous, unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front in late 1914.  British, French, and German soldiers emerged from trenches to exchange gifts, sing carols, and even play football – a brief moment of humanity in the midst of a brutal war before their commanders clamped down.  It starts with us, not just our leaders.  On behalf of all our Live 365 internet stations, thanks for a great year – see you back here Monday, beginning at 6 a.m.  From our home to yours … Merry Christmas!

Good morning, I’m Sonnie Shepherd.  Merry Christmas morning!  We’re taking a break today and tomorrow, hoping your holiday is filled with only good news.  We’re so grateful for the many local businesses, first responders, volunteers, giving hearts, and nonprofits who reached out the past month to make sure everyone’s holiday is magical.  Don’t forget, there are many people out there who are alone today – reach out with a short message or phone call.  We guarantee it will be a welcome gift.  And speaking of gifts, don’t forget to register your guess for this week’s Where in the World is Sonnie – might just win you a $25 gift card to Brick House Soups in Ellsworth.  Yum!  On behalf of all of us on the stations of Live 365 internet radio, thank you so much for your support this year.  See you back here Monday at 6 a.m. – and thanks so much for listening!  Merry Christmas!
